Welcome Back, Mavericks!

We are thrilled to welcome new and returning students, faculty, and staff to campus for the Spring 2025 semester! The start of a new semester is always an exciting time, filled with opportunities, vibrant energy, and, naturally, busier parking lots with heavier campus traffic. Here are some tips and tools to help ensure a smooth parking experience during the first week of classes:

UTA Parking Finder App

Make parking easier with the UTA Parking Finder app! Access real-time and predicted future occupancy for over 60% of campus parking lots. The app allows you to view where you can park with your permit and check current and future parking availability for any lot..

  • Pro Tip: Review the Parking Finder app before heading to campus to plan your parking spot in advance.

Parking Tips for a Smooth Start

  • Arriving before 10 A.M.:
You’ll find parking without delay! Follow guidance from UTA Police and Parking Ambassadors, and keep an eye on digital traffic signs for real-time updates.

  • Arriving after 10 A.M.:
Use the guaranteed parking areas for the quickest access:

    • Faculty/Staff: Lot 30 and Lot 38
    • Student Commuters: Lots along Greek Row behind Arbor Oaks, University Village, and Meadow Run apartments

The first two weeks of the semester can be challenging as everyone settles into their routines. Use the Parking Finder app to monitor how parking lot occupancy changes throughout the morning and plan accordingly.

Reminder: Be sure to park in designated lots based on your permit type. All parking lots have entrance signs indicating which permits are allowed.

Campus Construction

Our campus is undergoing considerable growth. Check out the Pardon Our Progress website for an overview of campus construction projects that will impact your commute and walk to class. These include the construction of Maverick Hall, the Life Science Remodel, and the UAB Lot(F9).  Additional construction is slated to begin in December 2025 for the renovation of the University Center.

 Have a great semester!
